Learn to carve a little Australian animal using traditional hand tools. Not only will you have a small animal to call your own, you will learn knife skills and finishing techniques.
Different Australian animal blanks, including wombat, platypus and echidnas will be available to choose from. Each blank is cut by us using a variety of timbers sustainably sourced.
The class will cover:
Tool selection and safety
Different carving techniques
Features of timber, including grain direction
Finishing, including sanding or a textured finish

Time: 9:30am - 13:30pm
(finish time is approximate, some people carve quickly and some take a little longer)
Please wear clothes you won't mind getting dirty as you will end up covered in little wood shavings.
Places are limited, and participants must be 16+ years.
